My First CowTown Card!

Did you hear the news? I'm on the DT for CowTown stamps! How exciting is that? Laurel has awesome stamps over there, and a HUGE variety - some whimsical, some beautifully drawn animals and scenery, and gorgeous Christ-centered stamps. She's also having an amazing overstock sale - tons of stamps for $1 a piece!!! And if you love doxies - CowTown is the place to be!

This is the Communion Boy. I decided to leave the colors of cardstock fairly simple, so he could really shine. I colored him with my Copics, and used Daisy D's rubons to finish the card off. What do you think?

InStyle Stamps is Blog Hopping - Western Style!

I'm like a half an hour late to this blog hop - but I had to cuddle with my munchkin this morning - I haven't seen her in three days!!! Please forgive me!

InStyle Stamps is blog hopping this Friday - with a Western theme! They are releasing this image, and some other awesome digis today, and the whole team has created some awesome cards to show you! To get the specifics on how you can enter to win a fun prize, go the InStyle Stamps blog.

Of course, since my week has been chaos, I've forgotten where to send you next, lol! So check out my sidebar - go visit all of the Design Divas! They've done some awesome work (way better than mine, which was created with my daughter sitting in my lap, lol)! Have a great Friday!

Tent Topper Cards

This is a tutorial I did for the InStyle Stamps blog. To go to their blog, click here.

Good Morning everyone! Today we are doing something super simple, but fun. we are making tent topper cards! I'm sure some of you have done this before, but for those of you who haven't, here's a quick list of materials you need: your base card (mine is apricot), which is cut to a length os 4.25"x8.5", a mat layer for that (optional - mine is pink) cut to 4"x4", and a layer of dp (again, optional - mine is new digi paper from InStyle Stamps). For the topper, you can really do any heighth or width you want. My Topper is 3.5" square for the base (apricot) and 3 3/8" square for my optional pink mat. I colored my image, Joyce and Mary, with Copic Markers a silver gel pen, and an Atyou Glitter Pen.

First I assembled everything but the base. I decided what ribbon I was going to use (easy decision for me - this is my favorite ribbon!) Because my image wasn't square, I put it towards the bottom of the topper, to leave room for my ribbon. You could certainly put a square image centered in the middle! As for placing of the topper, the easiest way to do it since your topper may be any size, is to lay both pieces on a regular card, and see what your maximum height can be. Does that make sense? It is way simpler than I am making it sound.

This is what my finished card looks like! I added a polka dot button at the bottom, to mimic my polka dot ribbon at the top. I didn't do anything else, because I love the digi paper and wanted to let it shine, too! Tent toppers are really easy to make, and the topper possibilities are endless - you could uses oval nesties, round nesties, label nesties, whatever you can think of!

Alcohol Inks!

Finally! I have been trying to post this forever, but silly me forgot to charge the rechargeable batteries, so my camera was pretty useless!
My friend Victoria did an amazing tutorial on Alcohol Inks today and posted it on her blog, Eat, Stamp, Sleep, Repeat.

Now, somehow I have no blending solution, so my background looks a bit different than hers, but I quite like it! I used Latte, Lettuce, and Ginger inks (all purchased at Pez-a-Doodle Designs - she has an amazing selection!) to make it. I followed everything she said with the exception of adding the blending solution to it.

My stamps are from SU - the set is called Sense of Time and I also used the Sanded background, but I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture. My only embellishments are Pez-a-Blings, available at Pez-a-Doodle Designs.

The Pink Cross

I host a challenge over at Christian Papercrafts on Thursdays - the Bible Verse Challenge. Today the challenge was to computer generate a verse, and use it on a card of any shape desired. And wouldn't you know it - my printer is running out of ink! So the ink is not as dark dark as I had hoped, but irl you can see it quite well.

The verse I chose today is from Isaiah, verse 41:13 -- "For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold your right hand and says to you, Do not fear, I will help you".

I wanted it to be to be a bit bright and cheerful, so I went with bright pink and Kraft. Not too many embellishments - just the ribbon sleeve brad and a few dew drops. What do you think?

Love Without End

I'm so way late with challenge, I probably shouldn't bother to post it, lol. It's Royal Wednesday over at Queen Kat Designs, and today the challenge was to use paint somehow on your card.

My card is quite simple, with my favorite QKD sentiment as the focal point. The dp has a sheen to the pink parts. I didn't really want to take away from that, so I left me sentiment panel alone. The paint comes in on my flowers - I painted them both with Hottie Pink Shimmerz Blingz. Veeeery shimmery irl!

Don't forget about the sale over at QKD: 35% off ALL QKD stamps through June 29th, and 50% off ALL clearance items! What a great deal!!!!

Peace!

This is Roxy, and I just love her! She is a retro image from InStyle Stamps. For the Wednesday challenge over there, we were supposed to create a card with some kind of stitching on it.

So, after I colored Roxy with Copics, I handstitched the GP White Panel to some Perfect plum with this fab thread I found at WalMart that fades from purple, to light purple, to blue. It matches the Basic Grey Wisteria paper perfectly!

My sentiment is from Lizzie Anne Designs. It's in the Just Words set, which is perfect for the small SU oval punch! I added a teensy Prima to the ovals, and considered this card done! The paper is busy enough to need any more embellishments!

Thanks So Much

How great is this? Another Nestie frame from Pez-A-Doodle Designs! Isn't it gorgeous? Right now it is a digital image, but I believe it will be rubber eventually. But since, for now, it is digital, Marti has decided to give it away for FREE!!! Go here to download the image!

You Rock, Supergirl!

Here is a card from LAD that I don't think I ever put on my blog, and I absolutely *love* it! So, if my memory is faulty, I'm sorry - but it is new to this blog, lol!

I used the LAD single Supergirl, which I am so in love with, and a sentiment from Sketched Sentiments that says You Rock! - and I think that says it all! I cannot count the number of times I have reached for this set - I love the font, the way you can put the words together, or used them separately, and how cheerful it seems!

I colored all of the girls with SU Markers, and used Memnto Tuxedo Black to stamp them as well as the sentiment. I underlined the sentimed with a squiggly line of liquid pearls. Then I added some Primas centered by a pink flower brad. and some gorgeous crocheted ribbon at the top.

This card is all about Girl Power for me!

Dream Silhouettes

Korin presented with a great sketch today over at Christian Papercrafts Magazine! What a fabulous hostess!

I used Sweet ' Sassy Stamps' Dream Silhouettes for my card, and Basic Grey's Two Scoops paper. To help set off the images, I went with Not Quite Navy for my card base and all of the mats.

My ink is SU Classic Pretty in Pink and Not Quite Navy. The only embellishments I used were two little Pez-a-Blings in the top left corner. Pez-a-Blings, you ask? They are these fabulous little square embellies, that come in glittered or non glittered, and are available exclusively at Pez-A-Doodle Designs. Trust me, you need them!

I hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday! I'm off to catch up on lots of work around the craft room :)

SuperMom

Everyone, meet SuperMom. SuperMom, meet everyone! She is from InStyle Stamps, and is available as a retro image in their rubber collection. I think she is adorable. I love her paired with this funky paper :)

And for those of you just joining me here, thanks for being patient while I switched from Wordpress to Blogger. It took a while to get set up, and there is still stuff I need to tweak, but soon I'll be happy with it!

Have a terrific Sunday everyone!!!

Blackberry Nestie

PAD_NestieFrame_tbu
Ok, so check this out -- are you ready?? Pez-aDoodle Designs has this frame for Nesties 2 available for $1.99 as a digital download!!!! How fabulous is that? I really am loving that more and more companies are offering digi stamps -- they are so cool! You get the image in two different size, so it is like a two-for-one deal!

I cuttlebugged my two layers - the Memory Box dp and the Pink Pirouette cardstock. I added a bit of handstitching at the bottom, and a pretty gold edged organdy ribbon -- I really wanted the frame to be the focus. My sentiment is from SU.

Sorry for the late post today - I've been in a whirlwind today trying to clean my craft room (I finally got enough off the floor to vacuum!!).
Taylor
ISS_Ariel_tbu
This is Ariel, a digital image from InStyle Stamps. Isn't she adorable? I sized her large, so she could be the main focus of my summer themed card.

She is colored with Copics, and then I painted Shimmerz on her top and he tail. So she is quite sparkly in real life!

I didn't do much else, except use little bubble self adhesive thingies in the corner. I had some random dp that reminded me of the ocean, so I used that. My card base is River Rock, and my matting layer is Blue Bayou.

Head over to the Instyle Stamps blog for all of the details on our challenge, what the prize is for playing along, and how you can get in on the action! Also visit the blogs of the other Design Divas - their links are on the left sidebar.

Pez-a-Doodle Wednesday :)

PAD_StudioG_tbu
This Studio G card was made using the Sketch Tuesday card over at Christian Papercrafts Magazine. It was a challenging sketch for me, and I'm still not sure I love the card.

I used Studio G Stamps I purchased from Pez A Doodles Designs, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. The card itself is pretty simple. My base is Bordering Blue, then a layer of Lovely Lilac, then a layer of dp from a big stack of Me & My Big Ideas papers that I got for Christmas.

God Bless the USA!

LAD_GodBlessThe USA_tbu
Ohmygosh! Have you SEEN the new Stars and Stripes digital paper and stamp singles of the month from Lizzie Anne Designs???? I'm in love!! For this sweet little card, I just printed out a piece of the patterned dp, and a piece of the solid red, which is designed to make matching totally easy (and it does!). I stamped my image on GP White cardstock, and layered it a red mat. Then I popped it up on monstrous pop dots, added a star for some bling, and a mini clothespin for cuteness.

I must say, Lizzie Anne is really getting me into digital paper. I was skittish at first, but I love the way it turns out! You should definitely go check all of their's out - they are so much fun!
CPCM_CM08_tbu
This is for today's Color Monday challenge on the Christian Paper Crafts Magazine site. I love this combo of chocolate, navy, and ivory!!

For my card, I used a base of Chocolate Chip, a layer of Not Quite Navy, and a layer of Very Vanilla. I topped it off with a pice of Basic Grey dp, from their Periphery line. I stamped my cross, from Our Daily Bread Designs, in Chocolate Chip. I stamped my sentiment in Not Quite Navy, and used Nesties to cut everything out. At the top, I added Not Quite Navy brads, and under the sentiment (from Stampin Up)I put two pieces of chocolate grosgrain ribbon.

Happy Birthday, Queen Kat!

QKD_BirthdayBlogHop_tbu
It's Vicki's birthday today, so we all thought we'd get together and do a birthday blog hop for her! Thanks to everyone who joined me from Nina's blog! Now, if you'll join me for a rousing rendition:

Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday , dear Vicki,

Happy Birthday to you!!!!!

We sounded great, didn't we? Ok, I may have been a little off key, but I tried hard, lol! I made this card for Vicki's birthday because the crown is what she wears (She is Queen Kat after all) and she is a wonderful person :) Mean as heck if you make her mad, but truly one of the sweetest people I know! Be sure to head on over to Tina's Blog for some more Birthday Hop goodness, check the QKD Blog for more fun shenanigans, and go to the store for an amazing sale!

Spirit of Power

CPCM_CPC07_tbu
I made this for last week's Color Monday challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts Magazine. They have such fun challenges, and it is a great place to gather and chat with other women! They have a gallery to upload pics to, and all sorts of other extras like Bible Study, a Question of the Day, a General Chit Chat area - you have to go check it out!

On this card, I used two Our Daily Bread Designs sets - Scripture Collection 2 and May God Hold You. I used a Copic marker to highlight some words and some flowers, a white gel pen to add dots (I love dots), Nesties, and my Cuttlebug with the texture folder for the black layer. I totally enjoyed making this card!

I hope you'll come and visit us over on the CPCM boards, and participate in the challenges! there are some for scrapbookers as well!

Beach Bunny

ISS_BeachBunny_tbu
This is Beach Bunny, from the InStyle Stamps line of Beach Time Fun Digital Downloads. Isn't she fun??

To match the color on both the bottle of suntan lotion and the sun (both buttons I purchased from Hobby Lobby in a "beachy" pack) I got out my Copics to see what would work best. On the towel, I went with my darkest yellow, an highlight of brown to match the bottle.

I added an Imaginisce sentiment, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, to make the white space go away, highlighted with More Mustard just as my main image panel is. My dp is by Prima, from their Eire collection. My card base is Basic Black, to complement her sunglasses and the ink color on the sentiment.

To get the best view of the picture, click on it to make it bigger. I really love this card!

Colorful Flowers

CPCM_NinaBFlowers_tbu
Aren't these flowers gorgeous?? NinaB drew them herself, and you can download them for free here. This is one talented lady, I'm telling you!

I printed the image in a large size, so I could really highlight the flowers and the quote from Charles Spurgeon - it is a wonderful quote! The card base is one of the pre scored cards from a pack. To keep it simple, I used Basic Black as my highlight layer. I got my Copics out and colored the flowers in bright colors, and used a couple of DaisyD's rhinestone blings to center two of the flowers. I really tried to leave it simple so the flowers themselves would be the focus!!

Cheers!

PAD_Cheers_tbu
I totally adore this coffee cup ring image! It is from Queen Kat Designs. I paired it with a tiny circular Studio G stamp that says "Cheers", which I got at Pez-a-Doodle Designs. I stamped both images using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain, and then used Tea Stain and Frayed Burlap to sponge around the edges.I used the Inkssentials Foam Ink Blending Tool to do my sponging - I love that thing! And just for fun I added some Pez-a-Doodle Pez-a-Blings embellies, just to finish it off. They sell in single color packs, as well as multi color packs. The color I used here is Brown Patina Sparkle :)

I went monochromatic on this card - it just seemed appropriate. It reminds me of being in a coffee shop!

Fun with Lizzie Anne Designs!

Pez-a-Doodle Wednesday

PAD_B&WStudioG_tbu

Sorry this is being posted so late y'all! I had an out of town doctor's appointment to go to, that took up the better portion of my day. Do y'all ever feel like you're never going to get caught up? That would be how I feel, lol!

My images are Studio G stamps, which I purchased at Pez-a-Doodle Designs. I also used Studio G ink to stamp them! The sentiment is in silver, and the stems in black. I was totally in the mood for a black and white card! It's simpe, I know, but I'm just glad I had the time to stamp!

Gotta run and tuck the little one in!

QKD is Blog Hoppin!

QKD_You'remyperson_tbu

QKD is blog hoppin' today, in anticipation of the new releases coming up tonight!

My card uses two of my favorite sets -- Get Comfy and You're My Person. I think that is the sweetest sentiment in the world!!!!

I popped the chair up on dimensionals and used a Copic marker to highlight parts of it. Now, I'm sure I've done something wrong with this post, like used a set I wasn't supposed to -- but with all I've got going on, I'm just thrilled to have made a card, lol! I can't seem to get good images of the new releases I've made - they all come out blurry. So I'll try again tomorrow when the light is better!

Go to the QKD Blog for more deets on the blog hop!
