It's NOT a Christmas Card!

Here is a cute one I made the other day, when I had the So Much Love set out on my craft table. This set is so fun - it makes me smile! I used some Basic Grey dp that I forgot I had, which was a pleasant find :)
This is another short post - we are off to play in the snow some more, and then I have to get back to wrapping Christmas presents! I'm so ready to be done with this!!! I'll post the deets about this card later today.

Photo Stamps

Here is a quick one I made with an awesome new image in the Lizzie Anne monthly mix for January (called From the Heart). It's a photo stamp - Joslyn actually took a picture of this flower and they turned it into a stamp!!!

Sorry for the short post today but I'm in the middle of Christmas frenzy! Hope you are all doing well!

More From the Heart

Here is another one from the newest monthly mix - From the Heart. I based my card on this week's sketch challenge but I switched it just a smidge. I have the hardest time with of-kilter panels! The neat freak in me just wants to straighten them up ;)

I think this little owl image is adorable. In the balloon are actually the words "it's your day" but I took them out for this card. In their place I added the small heart from the So Much Love set. All of the panel edges are sponged, and I handstitched the yellow panels on with multicolored brown thread. For an extra embellie, I added small brown buttons.

It's back to working on Christmas stuff for me today - I forgot about a set of cards I need to make for someone, and I haven't wrapped the first gift! I feel like I have so much to do!

Materials:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Creamy Caramel, Old Olve, Barely Banana
  • Stamps:LAD From the Heart, So Much Love, SU Antique Cracked bg
  • Ink: Old Olive, So Saffron, Close to Cocoa
  • Tools: SU edge punch, copics, paper piercer
  • Accessories: thread, buttons

Today I'm in the craft room hard at work on samples with the January Monthly mix from Lizzie Anne Designs!! Tomorrow is preview day - so be sure to stay tuned! Hope you are warm and cozy wherever you are!

Holiday Gifts

I'm still finishing up some simple holiday gifts - here's one of them. It is a quart sized paint can, purchased at Lowe's. I wrapped paper around it, and made a band of coordinating paper. I stamped the "homemade" image, which is from the Christmas Wishes set by Lizzie Anne Designs, and cut it out with a giga scalloped punch.

My holly images are from the same set. They are stamped on watercolor paper and colored with an aquapainter. Before addign the scalloped circle to the can I paper pierced the edges. It is adhered with dimensionals, and I added ribbon underneath it.

I plan on filling it with peppermint bark. That's one of my favorite holiday treats to make! My dad will probably get this (it is safe to post that - he never reads this blog!).

Materials:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Jolly Holiday patterned paper from Hobby Lobby, Watercolor cardstock
  • Stamps:LAD Christmas Wishes
  • Ink: Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Riding Hood Red
  • Tools: giga scalloped punch, paper piercer, aquapainter
  • Accessories: ribbon

A Triple Purpose Card!

Today is the Holiday Monthly Mix blog hop for Lizzie Anne Designs! Be sure to go the the Lizzie Anne blog for links to everyone that is playing along. The rules are simple - make a card using any stamp(s) from any monthly mix- couldn't be any easier. Blog candy is involved - just leave comments! For all the deets, read the post on the Lizzie Anne blog :)

I also doubled up on two other challenges for this card. My sketch is from this week's Mojo Monday challenge, and the color combo is from this week's Color Throwdown challenge. I always feel like I've accomplished something when I can get more than one challenge incorporated on a card.

My snowman and snowflake images are from the November Monthly Mix set called Christmas Wishes. The dp is from an old SU prints pack that I forgot I had. I cuttlebugged the top of my mat layer using the snowflake folder. My snowman is colored with an aquapainter and reinkers.

What do you think?

Materials:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Prismatics White, Riding Hood Red, Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, SU dp
  • Stamps:LAD Christmas Wishes
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Pretty in Pink, Riding Hood Red
  • Tools: cuttlebug, nesties, paper piercer, aquapainter
  • Accessories: ribbon

Dreaming of Sketches

I love sketch challenges. Well actually, I just love challenges period! I made this quick card using the sketch that Joslyn posted this week over at Lizzie Anne Land. Her take on the sketch is here, and it is darling!

Josyln actually said the card should be 5"x5" and I enlarged mine to 5.5"x5.5". No particular reason why, I just felt like it! I did manage to meet the "extra twist" on the challenge, which was to have a white background, so yay me!

I used the Lizzie Anne Designs set Dreaming of Dots (it's retired and unavailable now), which I love. I'm starting on my New Year's resolution to use neglected stamp sets early! The flourishes are from LAD's Fanciful Flourishes set.

If you have time to play along with this week's sketch, I'd love to see it! Post a link here or on the thread over at Lizzie Anne Land!

Materials:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Prismatics White, Basic Grey dp
  • Stamps:LAD Dreaming of Dots, Fanciful Flourishes
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Soft Sky, Sage Shaow
  • Tools: cuttlebug, nesties, slot punch, black fine tip sharpie
  • Accessories: ribbon

A Rockstar Welcome to Deb Felts!!

It's official - we have a new Lizzie Anne Designs rockstar! Deb Felts has joined our awesome team, and she is so talented! Be sure to stop on over at her blog to congratulate her!

Holiday Thank You Cards

My Christmas cards are all finished, so I am starting on the thank you cards I'll need for after the gift-giving frenzy. My goal for them this year is easy - keep it super simple! I want them done soon, I want them easy to mail (no extra postage), and I want them to be all-purpose thank you notes.

This is my first one. I apologize for the glare -- I don't know what the deal is with my Ott lite and didn't feel like fiddling with it (at least I'm honest!). It only took about 15 minutes to make, so at this rate I should have a good sized stack in a few days!

I have a thing for layers of cream and white - I love the look of it. So with this one, I used a creamy white color and added texture with the snowflake cuttlebug folder. Pretty simple!

Oh, what do you think of the new blog design?

Materials:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Confetti White
  • Stamps:LAD Christmas Wishes
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools: cuttlebug, nesties, copics (G21, BG10, E33, YG03)
  • Accessories: ribbon

Yes, I changed my name :)

I'm changing the name of my blog. I'll explain why in another post, but don't be alarmed for now!

And in this change, I've had to change the domain name of the blog, all of my comments got lost, and so did all of my links. It's a rough night for me and blogger!
