Love Muffin

I absolutely love this set, In the Kitchen!!! It just plain old makes me happy :) I made this card for two different challenges - the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge over at Hope Stamps Eternal, and the Friday Sketchers challenge. As usual, I had to tweak the sketch a bit - why can't I ever leave well enough alone???

The Cupcake Challenge gave me my color palette. And I *love* it!!! So springy and fresh - I'm so ready for some warm sunny weather! The sketch gave me a little trouble - I originally had a totally different stamp set out to use, and none of the images would work. I'm thrilled I ended up going in this direction though.

LAD Weekly Sketch Challenge #119

It's my turn to host the Weekly Sketch Challenge over at Lizzie Anne Designs! Here is what I came up with:

Every week we add an extra twist to our sketches - they are completely voluntary! This week my extra twist is to use an embellishment you've never used before on your card. I have tons of those squirreled away ;)

The "never-been-used" embellie on my card is the little string of fused pearls. I had completely forgotten I had them! I just snipped off a piece and adhered them with Glossy Accents. My honey pot is popped up on dimensionals, colored with Prismacolor markers, and covered Glossy Accents.

The image and sentiment are both from the Lucky You set. There's still time to sign up and get this set (along with all of the other amazing bennies that Mix Members get!) -- March has got a few days left!! My paper is from the Urban Prairie line by Basic Grey. I love the way it has a honeycomb design and the sweet little bee image in the corner!

I'd love to see your card if you have time to play along this week! You can link it here, on the Lizzie Anne blog, OR over in Lizzie Anne Land!

InStyle Stamps Blog Hop!

It's Blog Hop time with InStyle Stamps! Hopefully you've come here from Genevieve's blog - if you missed her somehow be sure to go back and check out her wonderful project!

Our theme this month is Easter. We don't really do much for Easter around my house, but we do have an Easter egg hunt, which always results in candy for my daughter. So I made that the theme of my card! Laney (she will be available in the store in the next couple of weeks, when our redesign is complete) here is enjoying a delicious lollipop - and she reminds me so much of my daughter!

I also made this card for this week's Wednesday Challenge at InStyle Stamps. It was to use some chipboard on your card or project. I accomplished that with my chipboard flowers, stem, and leaf. I colored them with copics and added some dots with my white gel pen.

Click on over to Lana's blog next, to see what she has come up with. And when you are all finished hopping with us, remember to go back over to InStyle Stamps to vote and comment for your favorite project! You could win Spellbinder's Nestabilities Labels 10 for voting and commenting!!! And the lucky DT member who has the favorite project of the month will win a Spellbinder's surprise too ;)

Planting Hope

I made three cards yesterday, and this one is by far and away my favorite! I love everything about orange - the color, the fruit....it's all just one big happy for me. The awesome sketch I used came from this week's Lizzie Anne Designs sketch challenge. Kendra hosted this week, and she just rocked it out, didn't she?!?!

I used "It's Good to Be Queen", which is April's monthly mix. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out! It is so fab! I know I say that every month but really -- Lizzie Anne bowls me over every month with these mix sets!

Bookmark Cards

Well, it's Monday again! Today I created a tutorial on bookmark cards for the InStyle Stamps blog. They are a super easy, fun project to make. And what a sweet little gift to send in the mail! Everyone loves getting a handmade card, and who doesn't need a bookmark? The idea for it came from a tutorial I saw on SCS. They used the Creatopia to make their cards -- I'm not that fancy *wink*!

I created my bookmark to match my card. You could do coordinating images, a sentiment, or pretty much whatever you want! My image is Sasha from InStyle Stamps - I love her. She's colored with both Prismacolor markers and Copics.

Aside from the goofy errors I made (coloring the images outside the lines the first time, cutting out the wrong colored cardstock with my nesties, putting the eyelet in before I attached the green panel to the kraft base, lol) the card and bookmark were super easy to make. I'm actually thinking about making a few to have on hand for birthday cards :)

Well, we're off to see our little man on what should be our last ultrasound before he gets here in May! Have a wonderful day!!!

No Frills Birthday

Happy Saturday! It's beautiful day outside, the hubs made blueberry pancakes for breakfast, and we are planning a picnic lunch. Later today, my daughter is headed to the in-laws to spend the night, and hubby and I have dinner plans with friends. And to top it all off, I'm stopping by the store to pick up New Moon. There is no way this day isn't going to be glorious!

Here is a super simple, no frills, cheerful birthday card I made using the Lizzie Anne Designs sixlet set Banner Birthday. I colored the birthday pennant and the cupcake with my Prismacolor markers - I thought they might be feeling a bit neglected!

I left off all embellishments - I kind of like it simple! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Happily Ever After

What a way to finish off Wedding Week!!! I love this image of the bride and groom -- the groom just doesn't get enough love at a wedding! Aren't they so sweet? I dressed them for a nice, casual, daytime spring or summer wedding - khaki suit for him, champagne sparkly dress trimmed in pale yellow for her. The image will be available for sale as soon as the store and blog redesign is complete - so in the next few weeks!!
How did I achieve this look? I used Liquid Pearls in Platinum and White Opal. I put a dot of the Platinum on her dress, and then painted in a swirly motion, to make the dress look like it had a little movement. When it dried, I covered it with the White Opal. Her veil just has the White Opal on it.
My sentiment is computer generated, using a font from Fonts for Peas -- my fav free handwriting font site! If you haven't been, go check it out. The fonts are great for everything!

Did you remember to enter the wedding photo contest??? The prize is worth $150, and is full of awesome stuff!

Mylie the Bridesmaid

This is Mylie! Isn't she darling??? I am loving these images from InStyle this week - they are so fun! Wedding cards are something I struggle with, because I never know what to make. But these images make it so easy to do fun, whimsical cards for the whole bridal party!

Mylie's dress is watercolored, and her hair and skin are colored with Copics. My sketch is adapted from the SCS Sketch Challenge this week. Why can't I ever just take a sketch and follow it, lol??? I always seem to tweak it somehow. Oh well - I love the way this turned out!

Stop by the InStyle Stamps blog to see what the other talented DT members have come up with for today, and while you are there check out the photo contest -- it's a great prize!

It's day three of Wedding Week, and today we have another fabulous cake image to share with you! This one is called Couture Cake, and like the other one will be available for sale as soon as the sites and store are redesigned -- I can't wait! I love these cakes -- they are so gorgeous :)

I don't know that mine is necessarily a wedding cake today, though - I was thinking more of a fun bridal shower or luncheon.

What do you think?? Don't forget to stop by the InStyle Stamps blog to see what the other ladies have created and read about some amazing invitations! While you are there, check this post to see the fab prize you could win just for sharing a photo of your wedding with us!

An Angelfish Card - and more blog candy!

**Looking for the Lizzie Anne Designs post? It's here!**

The DT at InStyle Stamps had a green and yellow challenge today -- I'm not so good with green and yellow. Well, at least in these bright shades! Basic Grey's Lime Rickey pad was so cute when I bought it, but the colors on each paper make me nervous when I use them, lol!

For our challenge I colored my Angelfish image with Copics, and glossed over the bubbles with Ranger Glossy Effects. My small angelfish embellie is actually an opaque orange - I cut a piece of the dp out in the same shape and used Glossy Effects to glue it to the fish, so he'd appear more green. My card base is actually Yo-Yo Yellow, but you can't tell!!

Now, for the details on the Blog Candy that is up for grabs if you participate in the Over the Hump Day Challenge!!!

This month's prize is a set of all the digital images we are releasing this month. There are over 25. They will all be available after the redesign is complete. So all you have to do to be entered is create a project using yellow and green and post a link to it in Mr. Linky by no later than 11:59 pm PST on April 13th. ***LINKS and COMMENTS GO HERE, ON THE ISS BLOG!!! We will do a recap of all the images at the end of this month after blog hop in this post. That way you can see all the images you will receive.

You have a whole month to participate. 25 free digital images is a great prize. And there is a variety of styles from our great anime images, to even our cute kitty with anime eyes.

Something Borrowed, Something Blue

It's day two of wedding week over at InStyle Stamps! Today's image is a bridal portrait (well, technically the image name is Portrait Bride) - isn't she lovely? She'll be available for sale in the store as soon as the redesign is complete. I kept my color scheme simple, and used the "...something borrowed, something blue..." theme.

You can see in the close up shot that I painted her veil with Angel Wings Shimmerz. I did have to be careful though - I've noticed that Shimmer will smear my printer ink (which is a bummer). She turned out just fine though! She is colored with Copics and her "...something blue..." are the flowers in her hair.

If you haven't seen the interview with Trish or the amazing invitations she makes, you should definitely go check them out! While you are there, take a look at the details for this week's contest - all you have to do is share a wedding photo and you'll be entered to win an amazing prize!!

Materials:

Cardstock/Paper: SU Baja Breeze, Soft Sky, Not Quite Navy, Prismatics White
Stamps: ISS Portrait Bride
Ink: Not Quite navy, printer
Tools & Accessories: ribbon, brads, eyelets, thread, cake charm, nesties, shimmerz, copics

Clean and Simple - Twice!!

I've been playing with my new Lizzie Anne Designs monthly mix, It's Good to Be Queen. It will be released April 1st!! This weekend I made a birthday card for my stepmom and shared it yesterday on the blog. I lined the inside, and used these two stamps in pink and olive. When I made it it occurred to me that it not only would work well as the inner liner but it would make a really cute CAS card!

Version 1, pictured above, is exactly like the inside of my stepmom's card. Well obviously the inside of her's didn't have the mini buttons or ribbon ;)

Version 2 uses two other stamps in the set, a different color combo, and a different orientation. The same concept, though. I can't decide which one I like more.

I whipped up these two in no time - seriously! And as an added bonus, my hubby loves them :) I see some gift sets for people in the near future. I love anything that is easy to make bunches of!

Happy Everything Materials:
Cardstock/Paper: SU Kraft, Whisper White
Stamps: LAD It's Good to Be Queen
Ink: More Mustard, Kiwi Kiss
Tools & Accessories: ribbon, thread, mini buttons

Thanks for Everything Materials:

I Love Cakes!

Post #2 today - see the Lizzie Anne Preview here.

Happy Monday everyone! It's Wedding Week over at InStyle stamps, and today is the first day of previews! This is the Pearl Cake image - isn't it fun? I love couture cakes, sugar art, and all of that fabulous stuff bakers can do! Sooooo gorgeous! It will be available in the store as soon as the blog and store redesign are done :)

I went with a Spring Wedding theme for my cake. My card is a 6"x6" one because I like that size for special occasion cards. The sentiment is computer generated - I downloaded the font from this site, which I swear has the cutest fonts ever! And of course, they are all free (which is a price I can afford!). Because the cake is so colorful I kept the rest of the card mostly white and added texture with cuttlebugged layers. I tied on a wide piece of ribbon and added a Martha Stewart silver cake charm with a tiny piece of white thread. I love it!

Be sure to stop by the InStyle Stamps blog today -- you'll find all of the details of this week's photo contest and prize! And you can see what else was created with this awesome new Pearl Cake image!!!

Materials:

Cardstock/Paper: SU Kraft, Prismatics White
Stamps: ISS Pearl Cake
Ink: printer
Tools & Accessories: nesties, paper piercer, dew drops, ribbon, cake charm, thread, copics

It's Good To Be Queen

LOOK!! It's the new Lizzie Anne Designs monthly mix! April's set is called "It's Good to Be Queen" - and isn't that a fabulous sentiment?? I like it so much I used it on this card for my stepmom's birthday. The whole set is full of fantastic images (just like they are every month). If you are already a mix member, you are in for a huge treat when this shows up in your mailbox! If you aren't -- sign up now!!!

My card is fairly simple, to keep the focus on the crown image. I handstitched all of the dp together and pierced holes in the scalloped ovals. Dew Drops finish it off!

Here is a look at the whole set:

Materials:

Cardstock/Paper: SU Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, Whisper White, Basic Grey dp
Stamps: LAD It's Good to be Queen
Ink: Old Olive
Tools & Accessories: nesties, paper piercer, dew drops, white thread, pink thread

Pretty in Pink

It's alot of pink - I know!! but I love pink. And more importantly, the person who is getting this card loves pink. I'm a Card Angel with the Chemo Angels organization, and this is for my friend. My sketch originated from the Viva La Verve sketch over at SCS. But I veered off course more than a little, and didn't go with the kitchen them that was part of the challenge. Oops ;)

I used the large flower image from Lucky You, which is the March Monthly Mix from Lizzie Anne Designs. It doesn't show up well in my picture - I took the pic and mailed the card Saturday morning before I looked to see if I got a good picture. I handstitched around the small panels with the dp (all Basic Grey) on them, and paper pierced the image panel as well as around the card base. My image panel is distressed, too (mostly by accident - I bent the corner and it was the only way I could think to fix it!). i tied a large ribbon on the card and called it done!

I really hope she likes it, and it brightens her day just a little. Stay tuned tomorrow - I have two fun posts to share!! A preview from InStyle Stamps AND a preview of the April monthly mix from Lizzie Anne!

Ava is a Tinker Fairy!

Do you have a daughter? Then chances are you've seen the Disney Tinkerbell movies! My daughter absolutely loves them. And she loves the whole Ava Collection from InStyle Stamps - partly because they are so stinkin' cute, and partly because her name is Ava too! When I saw the color inspiration for this week's color challenge, I knew immediately that I wanted to make a Tinker Fairy :) Here is what the inspiration piece looks like:

I also used Mercy's fabulous sketch for this week - she has the best sketches!! I don't know if you can tell in the picture or not, but the faux stitching around the large panel is done by paper piercing and highlighting with a Spica glitter pen. The smaller panel is handstitched on there with white thread. I also used the glitter pen to outline around the embossed edge of the nestie. I completed the card with three sparkly skittles and three different ribbons - white organza, gold organza, and lavender satin.

And don't forget - the whole Ava Collection is being retired, and is only available until March 30th. After that, the stamps will no longer be digi - they'll be only in rubber and exclusively sold at retail stores!! Get them while you can, and while they are cheap!!!!!

Happy Spring!

I'm so excited spring is [almost] here!! Warmer days, the trees are budding, and I can see some crocuses coming up in the yard. Happiness!!! We got so much snow this winter (for our area) and then rain on top of it that I'm not sure the ground will ever dry up!

I made this sweet little card with an image from Lucky You, the newest Monthly Mix by Lizzie Anne Designs. I stamped the flower on Basic Grey dp (Perhaps) and cutout the top, adhering it the flower I had already stamped on my white layer. My little pink ladybug is colored with Copics, as is the flower stem. I added some quick hand stitching, a couple of buttons, and some sponging - easy peasy! Oh!!! My grass is actually a stamp from the LAD set Born to Be Wild -- it's the giraffe's mane! And...that set is retired but still available -- it's 50% off!!!

I'm behind on some projects, so I need to get to work! Hope to have some more cute stuff to share soon :)

The Little Mermaid

Today for Hula Week InStyle Stamps is showcasing Ariel - isn't she a sweetie?? I love her, and my daughter just goes nuts every time she sees her! Actually, my little darling is mad at me about this card - she wanted Ariel to have peach colored hair and a pink tail -- so I guess I'll be making another card with her in the very near future!

Be sure to stop by the InStyle Stamps blog to see what the other DT members have been up to with Ariel, and for more fun info on the islands. And don't forget to enter to win some of the amazing goodies we are giving away this week!! It's some serious candy! All of the details are on the InStyle blog.
