Joyeux Noel

Today I'm sharing another card holiday card - it's chilly this weekend, so I'm totally getting in the holiday mood!  Isn't this Eiffel Noel stamp gorgeous?!  I am so in love with it, and love using it.  On this card, I went with a cracked glass technique for the main image.  I'll share a quick overview of how I made the whole thing:
  1. Cut card base to 6”x6” and the patterned paper panel 1/8” smaller. The image panel is 3”x4 1/8”, the first background panel is 2 ½” x 3 ¾” and the second, larger background panel is 4 ½” x 4 ½”. Sponge edges of card base; set aside.
  2.  Sponge edges of patterned paper piece, wrinkle (ball the paper up in your hand and smooth it back out), then add ink directly to the paper from the ink pad.
  3. Spritz larger background panel with coffee water; sprinkle some grounds on while wet. Allow the panel to dry and brush off any undissolved grounds. Sponge edges; tear into desired shape for panel. Distress edges. Sprinkle gold embossing enamel onto panel, heat from underneath to melt. Repeat with Copper Enamel.
  4. Stamp music score on smaller panel with dark brown ink. Sponge the edges with ink as desired. Sprinkle gold embossing enamel onto panel, heat from underneath to melt. Repeat with Copper Enamel.
  5. Stamp main image on smallest panel, color with Copics as desired. Cover entire panel with Versamark ink, pour Clear EP on top, and heat. Repeat process until desired thickness is achieved. Put the panel in the freezer for a few seconds, remove, and “crack” it – this will produce the cracked glass effect. Sponge ink into cracks to darken them.
  6. Adhere patterned paper and two background panels to card base. Tie ribbon (after dragging ribbon over brown ink pad to darken it up) in a knot; add safety pin and button. Adhere main image panel on top.

Stampendous Saturday: Pine Drift

It's the last Saturday in October, so I'm squeezing in just one more card for the Stampendous CAS Holiday card challenge!  Today I'm cheating a bit and sharing a card I actually made for the July catalog, using the Cling Jumbo Pine Drift stamp.  Things have been craaaazy busy at my house this week, so I didn't have time to make a brand spanking new card.  But I haven't shared this one on my blog before, so I figured, why not?!

After I colored my tree with Copics I used some Dot Sparklers and Geo Shapes Sparklers stickers to jazz it up a bit.  I hand-stitched around the panel.  My sentiment is from the Holiday Greetings Stickers, and I colored it with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen (the stickers were red, and the pen added some gold glitz).

If you've been waiting to stock up on Stampendous goodies, NOW is most definitely the time!  Stampendous is offering FREE shipping on all retail orders $50 and over (to US/APO/FPO addresses).
Now for more details about our Stampendous challenge!   Here's the list of team members from our various teams that are playing along today:

Our challenge to you this month is to join us in making CAS holiday cards.  We want to help you get into the holiday spirit, so this month we are giving away a Cling Jumbo Sparkle Joy set to a random winner.  You don't have to use a Stampendous image or products to play along, but we sure love it when you do! Team Spirit

Time for another Wednesday challenge with the Prettie Girls!  This week our challenge is to actually use those embellishments we've all got sitting around.  No problem, right?  Except, when I sat down to make my card I had the hardest time deciding what to do, lol!

I had this sketch in mind, using the adorable cheerleader from the Go Team set, before I started.  I almost forgot to add the bling!  I ended up using 3 little bits of bling as flower centers in the lower left corner of my card.

Be sure to head over to the Paper Pretties blog to see what the other girls have been up to, and for all the details on playing along with us!

This week's CAS challenge over at Splitcoaststampers is to make a card based on a great sketch by my sweet friend Patricia.  I've been in a monochromatic mood lately, so I created a purple holiday card!  I added the lines behind my embossed, fussy-cut snowflake using my scor-buddy.

Stampendous Saturday: Saint Nick

This is my second post today - be sure to check out my card for the Halloween Hop!
It's time again for a new card for this month's Stampendous CAS holiday card challenge.  Today I guess mine should be considered "Dirty" and simple, rather than "Clean" and Simple, lol.  I stamped the cling rubber Saint Nick image on my textured cream card stock, which I knew would give it a mottled look.  I added a bit of color using colored pencils (I smudged the coloring with the tip of my finger to soften it up a bit).  I distressed and sponged the edges as well.  On the card base I stamped the Cling Jumbo Merry Magical image in the top and bottom corners before I added my image panel to it.

If you've been waiting to stock up on Stampendous goodies, NOW is most definitely the time!  Stampendous is offering FREE shipping on all retail orders $50 and over (to US/APO/FPO addresses). Just use the promo code FREESHIP at checkout!  And yes, the promo code is case sensitive, so put it in correctly!

Halloween Hop: Cork Trees

Cyndi Bundy was fabulous enough to put together a fun Halloween-inspired hop, so today I'm blog hopping again with a great group of friends.  My card uses some super cute Stampendous Halloween stuff - I actually made this card for their July 2011 catalog, and I was thrilled when it made it in there!

I started with the Frightful Phrases cling rubber background stamp.  I added some trees, stamped and fussy cut from sheets of cork, from the Birch Buddies perfectly clear set.  My fat little pumpkin is from the Stretchy Spooks perfectly clear set; he's stamped on three different card stocks (well, two and some cork) and then pieced together and shaded with Copics.  I also added a large velvet-y bat from the Jumbo Bats set of Class 'A Peel stickers.  To grunge him up a smidge I rubbed some brown chalk on with my finger.

Now, for more fun!  Before you hop off to the next stop, be sure to read below to see what you could win for leaving comments along the way.  Here's the whole Halloween party train today:

Sweet 'n Sassy and The Twinery Are Hopping!

This is my second post today! Don't miss my Pinkalicious Sophia challenge card with the Prettie Girls!
Today Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has teamed up with the fabby ladies over at The Twinery to bring you an amazing blog hop!  Settle in, get your tea (or coffee) warmed up, and maybe grab some chocolate too :)  If you've joined me from Grace Hester's blog...welcome!

I used two sets released by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps in September, Christmas Light and Light of Christmas.  And I used the super cool die that coordinates with the candle image.  Take a look at my card:

I stamped the Light of Christmas background on a cream panel and sponged the edges.  I die cut the candle image, stamped it, and colored it with Copics.  It's popped up on a bit of foam tape.  Because I used cream card stock and the colors in my patterned paper were cream, I wanted my twine to be a bit "dirtier" than the usual gorgeous Charcoal color.  I flipped over an ink pad and ran it over my twine until I achieved the desired aged look!

Your next stop on the hop is Caroline Stender.   She's running a little behind today, so if he post isn't up yet, head over to Mary Marsh's blog to check out her eye candy!!  And if you get lost along the way, feel free to head over to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps blog to find your way :)

Ooohh....before you go!  I should tell you about the PRIZES you can win for hopping along with us!  The Twinery is giving away one Ultimate Color Sampler Pack - that's a whole lotta scrumptious twine!!  And take a look at what Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is giving away:
Yep, that's right!  The fantastic Season of Change stamp set and die bundle!  I am so in love with this set.  It makes stamping the leaves soooooo easy!  Now, how can you win these prizes?  Just be sure to comment on ALL of the stops along the hop today.  You have until October 22 at 11:59 PM EST to leave the comments; winners will be announced on October 23rd.

    Happy Hopping!

    Pinkalicious Sophia

It's challenge day with the Prettie Girls!  This week we were challenged to use black, white, and one other color. I chose to make a card for my pretty princess, so my third color was PINK!!!   Giving Thanks Sophia is one of my favorite images, so I paired her with a sentiment from Love You This Much Cooper.  I paper pieced her dress, hairbow, and flower.  And what princess card could be complete without a smidge of bling??

Be sure to head over to the Pretties Blog to see what the other designers have in store for you today!

    Caramel Season's Greetings

I really love the warm feeling of this card, and the adorable little girl in the Postcard Pretty main image!  She's colored slightly with Copics, to help her stand out a bit.  I added the Season's Post stamp because to me, they just work together.  On my piece of patterned paper I also lightly stamped the small postcard image from the Eiffel Tower clear stamp set.

The edges of everything are curled up and distressed; I added ink directly from the ink pads as well.  I also wrinkled the patterned paper a bit, to help with the aged look.  Finishing off this card is a vintage button and some pretty ribbon!

    Supplies:
Stamps: Postcard Pretty, Season's Post, Eiffel Tower (Stampendous)
Card Stock: Candlelight (Bazzill), Cream (unknown)
Patterned Paper: Key to My Heart (Graphic 45)
Ink: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Brushed Corduroy, Tea Stain (Ranger)
    Coloring Medium: Copics (BG10, BG11, E000, E00, E31)
Accessories: Ribbon (may Arts), Vintage Button

    A Gold Star

It's Tuesday, and that means sketch time with Skipping Stones Design!  I went with a simple color scheme for this holiday card.  I stamped the start twice using Versamark ink and use Detail Gold embossing powder to snazz it up.  This fabby set, Christmas Swirls, is on sale all month long for $12.49, so you should snap it up!!!

Be sure to check out the Skipping Stones Design blog to see the original sketch, and to read all the details about playing along (you might win free stamps!).  And be sure to check out all the fabulousness:

    Tissue Postcard

I love this shabby chic card I made using some gorgeous stamps from Stampendous.  I started out by stamping the rubber Cling Key Note on to white tissue paper, and then sponging the edges.  I also wrinkled it up and tore the edges.  After that, I stamped the Perfectly Clear Elegant Borders on to a slim vertical panel, and sponging the edges of that as well.  I used Aged Copper Embossing Enamel to gussy up my grungeboard keyhole.  See how it is all bubbled up? I inked it up with Versamark ink, sprinkled the embossing enamel on it and overheated it to get that effect. I LOVE the Aged Copped look - that verdigris color is stunning!

Around the edges of my pink patterned paper, I stamped more from the Elegant Borders set and used chalk to give them some color.  I'm not cool enough to have an actual set of chalks, so i used my daughter's Crayola Sidewalk Chalk....it worked perfectly! Once done, I sponged a bit of ink around the edges as well.  To finish off the card I added a small bird from the Charm Collection perfectly clear set (ok, ok...it also covers up where i glued down the tissue paper!!)

    Supplies:
Stamps: Cling Key Note, Elegant Borders , Charm Collection (stampendous)
Card Stock: Pink, Candlelight (Bazzill); Tissue Paper
    Patterned Paper: Heaven Sent Pink
Ink: Walnut Stain, Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy (Ranger); Aegean Blue (VersaMagic); Varsamark
Accessories: Sidewalk Chalk (Crayola); Grungeboard keyhole (Tim Holtz), Aged Copper Embossing Enamel (Stampendous)
    Tools: heat gun

    Hey Cupcake!

The Clean and Simple Challenge over on Splitcoaststampers this week is a theme challenge: cupcakes!  I  adore cupcakes (who doesn't?) and went straight for one of my all-time favorite stamps, the Cupcake single by Lizzie Anne Designs.  I popped it up on a focal panel, and stamped the Starburst single repeatedly along the bottom portion of my card.

Did you know that Gourmet Rubber Stamps carries the complete line of Lizzie Anne Designs images?  Well, they do!  And you can choose to get your stamps in cling-mount form, or wood-mounted.  Personally, I'm a die-hard cling mount girl - it's the best option in terms of storage for me.  But it's cool to know the wood is still out there for everyone who loves it that way!

I'd love for you to play along with the CAS challenge this week! Use the keyword CAS140 when you upload to your SCS gallery, so we can see your yummy, cupcake-inspired creation!

    Stampendous Saturday - Tinsel Tree

Don't forget I'm Swimming for Katie, so please be sure to check out that post and the giveaway that's with it!  The Renz family needs our help, prayers, and donations now more than ever, so I encourage you to do anything you can for them! I had originally said a winner would be announced today, but I am giving everyone an extra week to leave a comment!
Have I mentioned how much i adore this month's Stampendous challenge?  We're all about the Clean and Simple (CAS) holiday cards this month, and so far I've made a card in nine minutes, and another in about five.  This week's took a little longer, but only because I was trying to figure out which pretty sparklies to use!

I started with the Tinsel Tree image, and stamped it once on my card base and again on a contrasting piece of card stock. I cut out the green one and used a glue pen (Martha Stewart) to add Embossing Tinsel and glitter where I wanted it.  Before I adhered it to my card base using foam tape, I added a bit of Embossing Tinsel to the starbursts around the tree, and stamped the Old World Greetings sentiment on the bottom.  If you haven't hard about all the cool things you can do with Stampendous's new Embossing Tinsels, check out this informative blog post.

I also combined this card with the newest Desert Island Crafter's Challenge.  From the itinerary, I used 4 items - my favorite color (brown), candy colors (pink and green), not a square (hey, the card is rectangular!),  and stipes (they are on the tree).  Trust me, my card is WAY different than everyone else's this week, so you'll want to head over there to check them all out!
Now for more details about the Stampendous challenge!   Here's the list of team members from our various teams that are playing along today:

    Believe in Miracles

Don't forget I'm Swimming for Katie, so please be sure to check out that post and the giveaway that's with it!
I love the Zenspirations line from Gourmet Rubber Stamps.  It has quite a few wonderful sayings, perfect for encouraging cards or for art journaling.  On this card I really wanted to focus on the saying, so I kept the card base super simple - I just added three score lines across the middle.

My sentiment is colored with Copics.  Aren't those doodles fun?  This stamp, Believe in Miracles, is available in cling mount (on thick, gray cushion - perfect for mounting on an acrylic block and getting inky!) or or as a wood mounted rubber stamp.  You can have it any way you like it!

    Sending Love to You

Don't forget I'm Swimming for Katie, so please be sure to check out that post and the giveaway that's with it! And check out my Paper Pretties blog hop release card, too!
This week's Clean and Simple challenge over at Splitcoaststampers is to be inspired by a gorgeous breakfast photo.  I used the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Tea Time set, paired with a sentiment from the Christmas Tags set, to create my card.  To make the little "cinnamon stick", I cut a small pice of kraft card stock, sponged the edges with a couple different colors of distress ink, distressed the edges with my fingernail, and then spritzed the whole thing with water.  I rolled it up and tied it with a piece of ribbon until it dried, and then tied it onto my card!  My delicious background patterned paper reminded me of the warm background in the photo.  Take a look at the inspiration pic:
