Awhile ago I shared a card very similar to this one and loved the way it turned out. I decided to re-make it in a more Christmas-y theme.
I inked up the gorgeous Time in Paris stamp set from the Stamp-It Australia line at Crafter's Companion USA.
Like the first card I made, I wanted this card to have a soft, more vintage feel. I stamped my image on to kraft card stock using Versamark ink, and then used both I Kan'Dee Pearlescent Shimmer Chalks and I Kan'Dee Earth Tones Chalks to add color.
I tried to get a good picture of the shimmer on the main image panel, but it doesn't translate well on camera!
This technique is really fun and easy to do. Here's a step by step look at how I created this:
- I cut the pieces to the size I wanted and rounded the corners - on this card I chose to use a corner rounder that gave a very rounded edge.
- I then added distress inks with a foam applicator to all of the card stock and patterned papers; I added ink directly to the edges from the ink pad itself as well
- I stamped my image in Versamark ink, and then added colors using the tool included with the chalks
To finish the card I added a die cut snowflake, some sparkly twine, and a fun brad.
