Smell the Flowers

I made a quick card on Thursday for the Ways to Use It challenge over on Splitcoaststampers.  The challenge was to incorporate buttons on your card.  And thanks to my girlies Lydia and Korin, I wanted to play along in the Moxie Fab Winter Blues challenge as well.  I pulled out some of the gorgeous new patterned paper that my sweet friend Korin sent me, hand stitched it together, and colored up the lovely flowers from the Smell the Flowers set.  I realized after I made my card that I was technically supposed to use navy blue to make this qualify for the Moxie Fab challenge....but oh well!  I had a great time making it!

Supplies:
Stamps: Smell the Flowers (Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps)
Card Stock: Kraft, White (Neenah)
Patterned Paper: Blink of an Eye (My Mind's Eye)

Stampendous Saturday: Diamond Crown

It's time again for another Stampendous Saturday - this month we are challenging ourselves (and you!) to create projects with texture on them.  You can emboss, distress, add color fragments or glitter....the possibilities are endless!

I didn't actually technically add any texture to my card today....it sort of already had it!  I used some fabulous dotted card stock as my base, and fussy cut an image from the stunning Vintage Crowns clear stamp set.  Along the patterned paper I stamped a border from the  Elegant Borders set.  And of course, I just had to add some bling to the crown.  All cards need bling!

Here is a list of the Stampendous team members playing along today:

We want YOU to play along with us!  Just add your direct link to your card (make sure you've loaded it up with tons of TEXTURE) to the linky tool below my signature (or on the Stampendous blog) no later than March 1, 2012 at 11:00 PM EST.  You do not have to use Stampendous products to play along, but we sure love it when you do!  And as an extra incentive for playing, one lucky person (drawn at random from all the entries) will receive this gorgeous Corset Ladies Perfectly Clear Stamp Set:

Due to shipping restrictions, the winner must have a US address.  We hope you get a chance to play along with us - happy stamping!

Supplies:
Stamps: Vintage Crowns, Elegant Borders (Stampendous)
Card Stock: Cinnamon Stick, Butter(Bazzill)
Patterned Paper: ummmm...I forgot!!
Ink: Gold Encore; Tea Stain (Ranger)
Accessories: buttons, prurple twine, Martha Stewart bling

I turned this shaker box into a birthday gift tag - I love that idea!  The newly released cling rubber Cowlik Birthday stamp was the perfect stamp to feature in there.  Isn't he cute?

Stop by and play along if you get a chance - Stampendous is giving away a bottle of Color Fragments and a bottle of Glass Glitter to one lucky participant!

Paper Craft Planet and I {Heart} Papers Are Hopping!

Today I'm so excited to be a part of something very special - a joint blog hop between the fabulous Supernovas at Paper Craft Planet and the amazingly talented team at i {heart} papers!  Recently at CHA many of my teammates at Paper Craft Planet were drawn to certain products and projects...when they discussed them over dinner they discovered some emerging trends.  That's what today's hop is all about.  Of course, not everyone was able to attend CHA.  Thankfully, those of you who couldn't be there can live vicariously through the next best thing: photos!  Check out this post from Susanna, and several posts from MoxieFab!

For my first card today, I combined several of the trends Susanna noticed in her post.  I used the Bonjour set by Lizzie Anne Designs (available at Gourmet Rubber Stamps) to get the "Paris" theme, and hand stitched around several edges of my patterned paper (bringing a sewing element into play).  I painted a wooden bangle from DIY Bangles and tied some twine to it, also incorporating those two trends.

My second card is more playful.  I used patterned paper from the same collection, Cosmo Cricket's Joyride (graciously provided to me by i {heart} papers), this time paired with the fun Things That Go set from Lizzie Anne Designs.  I focused more on the trael theme on this card, using paper that had little cars on it, and arrows on another piece.  I added a pennant die cut (a very large one!) to throw that into the mix as well, and tied some wine on my button.

And be on the lookout in the coming days over at i {heart} papers...they'll be stocking a great selection of stamps from Gourmet Rubber Stamps!  What fun!!

Be sure to stop by everyone's blogs today - you will see some amazing creations! Here is a full list of the i {heart} papers team and the Supernovas that are playing along:

You Inspire Me

This is one of the first cards I made with the fabulous You set, designed by Dina Kowal for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  I really, really love how this card turned out!  I inked up each sentiment, stamped it once on scratch paper, and then stamped it on my card stock base.  That way, the colors were not too dark.  I stamped the large word you in the same way, and tied some twine around the top - that's it!  Simple as can be :)

Supplies:
Stamps: You (Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps)
Card Stock: White (Neenah)
Ink: Rich Cocoa (Memento), Worn Lipstick, Peeled Paint, Wild Honey, Dusty Concord (Tim Holtz/Ranger)
